Ellen Crowley began her violin studies at the age of five and has just completed her second year of her Bachelor of Music degree in the MTU Cork School of Music, specialising in violin performance.

Ellen has received masterclasses from Máiréad Hickey, Ioana Petcu-Colan and David Moreau. She is a multiple prize winner in Feis Maitiú Corcaigh and MTUCSM Advanced Concerto and Recital Competitions.

Ellen is a member of the MTUCSM Symphony Orchestra, of which she was co-leader in 2025. She has been a member of the Ulster Youth Orchestra since 2023, and this summer will lead the second violin section in performances in the Young Euro Classic Festival in the Konzerthaus Berlin. Ellen was concertmaster of the Cork Youth Orchestra in 2024. She was also a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland in 2023.

Ellen is second violinist in the Olympia String Quartet, who have performed nationally at events including the Ortús Festival, the Sounds from a Safe Harbour Festival, the West Cork Chamber Music Festival, the National String Quartet Foundation Annual Gala Concert, and the Tommy Tiernan Show.
