Siobhán Doyle, violin/Artistic Director
Siobhán Doyle is a versatile violinist who has performed worldwide as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. An inaugural performer at the Waterford Chamber Music Festival, she is delighted to return this year as Co-Artistic Director, connecting her passion for chamber music with her Waterford roots. Siobhán is currently based in Dublin, where she holds the position of Section Leader of the Second Violins with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. She is a former member of the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and has toured the world extensively with ensembles including the London Symphony Orchestra, European Union Youth Orchestra, and Irish Chamber Orchestra. As a chamber musician, Siobhán has appeared at festivals such as the West Cork Chamber Music Festival, Clandeboye Festival, and Ortús Festival, collaborating with artists including Alexei Grynyuk, the Marmen Quartet, Gordan Nikolić, the Vanbrugh Quartet, and Mairéad Hickey. She has been a founding member of the Lir String Quartet since 2017. As a soloist, she has performed Vivaldi’s Concerto for Four Violins with members of the European Union Youth Orchestra at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, in addition to appearances with the Dublin Symphony Orchestra and Orlando Chamber Orchestra. Siobhán studied with Leland Chen at the Royal Northern College of Music before furthering her musical education with Nurit Stark at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart and Gregory Ellis at the MTU Cork School of Music.
